About Nifty 200

What is the Nifty 200?

It is a comprehensive stock market index representing a broad spectrum of the market. Launched by the National Stock Exchange (NSE), it tracks the performance of 200 of the most liquid and largest companies. It does this through free-float market capitalization, capturing about 86.5% of the NSE's total free float market cap.
This index is a crucial benchmark for the stock market , offering investors valuable insights. It forms the basis for various index-linked products. This includes mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). So, investors can gain exposure to a diverse range of equities through a single investment vehicle.

The Nifty 200 NSE is rebalanced semi-annually. It is done to maintain its relevance and accuracy in reflecting the current market landscape. This rebalancing ensures that the index continues to represent the most significant players in the market.
