Telecom major Bharti Airtel Ltd. delivered an impressive set of results for the quarter ended September 2025 on November 3, 2025, posting a consolidated profit of ₹6,792 crore, marking an 89% year-on-year (YoY) growth from ₹3,593 crore in the same period last year. The company’s revenue from operations rose 26% YoY to ₹52,145 crore, reflecting broad-based growth across its India and Africa businesses.
Operational Highlights and Financial Performance
Airtel’s performance was bolstered by sustained demand for data and expanding customer engagement. The company’s Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹29,919 crore, up 36% YoY, while the EBITDA margin improved to 57.4%. The EBITDAaL (EBITDA after lease costs) rose 42% YoY to ₹26,600 crore, with a margin of 51%.
At the domestic level, Airtel’s India business revenue reached ₹38,690 crore, up 22.6% YoY. The segment recorded a strong EBITDA of ₹23,204 crore, representing a 34.2% YoY increase, and an impressive EBITDA margin of 60%. The company invested ₹9,643 crore in capex during the quarter to enhance its network capabilities.
Steady Growth in Africa Operations
Airtel’s Africa business also showed resilience, with a customer base of 174 million as of 30 September 2025. Revenue in constant currency terms grew 24.2% YoY, supported by healthy data usage and expanding network reach. The EBITDA margin in constant currency improved to 48.8%, up 238 basis points YoY, while the EBIT margin stood at 32.3%, reflecting a 190-basis-point improvement. The business incurred ₹1,719 crore in capex during the quarter.
ARPU and Customer Growth
The company’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) climbed to ₹256, up from ₹233 in Q2FY25, showcasing improved realisations and higher data consumption. Airtel’s total customer base reached 624 million across 15 countries, with 450 million customers in India and 174 million in Africa.
During the quarter, Airtel added 2,479 towers and 20,841 mobile broadband base stations, while over the past 12 months, it deployed 12,796 new towers and expanded its fibre network by 44,104 kilometres, reinforcing its commitment to building a robust digital infrastructure.
Homes and Digital Segments See Strong Momentum
Airtel’s Homes business continued to grow steadily, reporting a 30.2% YoY increase in revenue. The segment added 951,000 new customers during the quarter, taking the total to 11.9 million. Meanwhile, its Digital TV segment maintained stable traction with revenues of ₹753 crore and a customer base of 15.4 million.
Strategic Partnerships and Innovation
In a move to enhance user experience, Bharti Airtel announced a partnership with Perplexity, offering a 12-month complimentary Perplexity Pro subscription to all its Mobile, Homes, and Digital TV customers.
