For instance, in the real estate industry, a brokerage fee is a standard fee or a flat percentage charged to the seller, buyer, or both. On the other hand, mortgage brokers help potential traders find and secure mortgage loans. Their fees ideally fall between 1% and 2% of the total loan amount.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

<\/span>Steps to Calculate Brokerage Fees in the Stock Market<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\r\n

The formula for calculating <\/span>broker charges in share market<\/b> is: Brokerage = Number of Shares Purchased\/Sold x Price of 1 Unit of Stock x Brokerage Percentage.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Now, for example, if an individual named ‘X’ decides to buy 20 shares of Hindustan Unilever Limited at \u20b92,000 each and within a period of 10 days, they sell it off for \u20b92,100. Now, the charges applicable to them through the broker they chose are based on the following two conditions:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

If about 2.5% of the trade value is less than or equal to \u20b92, the <\/span>stock<\/b> brokerage<\/b> charges<\/b> will be calculated as 2.5%.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

If about 2.5% of the trade value is more than \u20b92, the brokerage will be calculated using this formula: max(min(0.1% x Trade Value, \u20b920), \u20b92) = \u20b920<\/span><\/p>\r\n
