The company reported a 272 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, reaching \u20b93,102 crore compared with \u20b9833 crore in the same period last year. This growth was supported by higher sales volumes in India and ongoing cost transformation initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Consolidated revenue from operations stood at \u20b958,689 crore, recording a 9 per cent increase from \u20b953,904 crore in Q2FY25. Sequentially, revenue rose by 10 per cent, while net profit improved by 49 per cent compared with the previous quarter.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"EBITDA_Performance_and_Margin_Expansion\"><\/span><strong>EBITDA Performance and Margin Expansion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tata Steel reported consolidated EBITDA of \u20b99,106 crore, reflecting a 46 per cent year-on-year increase and a 22 per cent rise on a sequential basis. The EBITDA margin stood at around 16 per cent, supported by stronger contributions from the company\u2019s Netherlands operations and a reduction in losses in the UK business.<\/p>\n<p>In India, EBITDA reached \u20b98,654 crore, translating to a margin of 25 per cent for the quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s cost transformation programme continued to yield notable results, contributing \u20b92,561 crore during Q2 and \u20b95,450 crore for H1FY26.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"India_Business_Growth_in_Production_and_Deliveries\"><\/span><strong>India Business: Growth in Production and Deliveries<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The India segment remained the core driver of performance.<br \/>\nKey highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turnover of \u20b934,787 crore, up from \u20b932,660 crore in the year-ago period.<\/li>\n<li>Crude steel production up 8 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 5.65 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Deliveries up 17 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 5.55 million tonnes, supported by higher domestic demand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The company stated that its marketing franchise enabled efficient scaling of volumes while strengthening its leadership position in key segments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/torusdigital.go.link\/hgQeE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.torusdigital.com\/toruscope\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Desktop-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<style>\n  .responsive-img {<br \/>\n    display: block;<br \/>\n    margin-left: auto;<br \/>\n    margin-right: auto;<br \/>\n    width: 100%;<br \/>\n    max-width: 900px;<br \/>\n<\/style>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"European_Operations_Mixed_Outcomes_Across_Regions\"><\/span><strong>European Operations: Mixed Outcomes Across Regions<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Netherlands<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revenue: \u20ac1,551 million<\/li>\n<li>EBITDA: \u20ac92 million, up from \u20ac64 million in Q1FY26<\/li>\n<li>Liquid steel production: 1.67 million tonnes<\/li>\n<li>Deliveries: 1.54 million tonnes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>United Kingdom<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revenue: \u00a3505 million<\/li>\n<li>EBITDA loss: \u00a366 million, compared with a loss of \u00a341 million in the previous quarter<\/li>\n<li>Deliveries: 0.57 million tonnes, slightly lower due to subdued demand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As part of its ongoing deleveraging efforts, Tata Steel reduced debt at its UK operations by \u00a3540 million. Consolidated gross debt fell by \u20b93,300 crore quarter-on-quarter to \u20b995,643 crore.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Strategic_Updates_Strengthening_Downstream_Portfolio\"><\/span><strong>Strategic Updates: Strengthening Downstream Portfolio<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>During the quarter, Tata Steel made several strategic advancements in its downstream business:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The board approved the acquisition of the remaining 50 per cent stake in Tata BlueScope Steel Private Limited for \u20b91,100 crore, further strengthening its presence in coated steel and construction solutions.<\/li>\n<li>The company spent \u20b93,250 crore on capital expenditure during Q2 and \u20b97,079 crore during H1FY26.<\/li>\n<li>It continued to progress on restructuring and decarbonisation initiatives in the UK and the Netherlands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, Tata Steel completed the sale of its ferro-chrome plant in Jajpur, Odisha, to Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys (IMFA) for \u20b9610 crore.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Management_Commentary\"><\/span><strong>Management Commentary<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>T V Narendran, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted that the company delivered a resilient performance despite a challenging global environment marked by tariffs, geopolitical tensions, and elevated steel exports. He emphasised the strong momentum in India, where both production and deliveries saw healthy growth.<\/p>\n<p>Koushik Chatterjee, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, noted that the cost transformation programme and volume expansion in India were key drivers of the improved financial performance.
