Tata Group\u2019s retail arm, Trent Ltd<\/a>, reported a steady performance for the second quarter of FY26 on 7th<\/sup> November 2025, highlighting the company\u2019s sustained growth momentum in India\u2019s organised retail space. For the quarter ended September 2025, Trent\u2019s consolidated net profit rose 11% year-on-year (YoY) to \u20b9373.42 crore, compared to \u20b9335.06 crore in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

On a sequential basis, profit declined by around 12% from \u20b9429.69 crore in the previous quarter, reflecting a normalised trend after a robust start to the fiscal year.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Strong Revenue Growth and Operating Performance<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Trent\u2019s revenue from operations increased 16% YoY to \u20b94,817.68 crore in Q2FY26, up from \u20b94,156.67 crore in Q2FY25. The steady top-line growth was supported by healthy consumer traction across its key retail formats.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s EBITDA climbed 21% YoY to \u20b9843.53 crore from \u20b9696.76 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while EBITDA margin improved to 17.5%, compared to 16.8% in Q2FY25. Total expenses rose 18% to \u20b94,267.39 crore from \u20b93,616.07 crore, reflecting Trent\u2019s continued investments in store expansion and operational scaling.<\/p>\n

On a standalone basis, the retailer reported a net profit of \u20b9450.77 crore, up from \u20b9423.44 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations for the standalone business stood at \u20b94,724.06 crore versus \u20b94,035.56 crore in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Expanding Retail Footprint<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

As of early October 2025, Trent\u2019s store portfolio included 261 Westside stores, 806 Zudio outlets (including three in the UAE), and 34 stores under other lifestyle formats. The company\u2019s strong multi-brand presence underscores its growing influence in both affordable and premium retail segments.<\/p>\n

This expanding footprint, coupled with consistent same-store performance, continues to strengthen Trent\u2019s leadership position in India\u2019s fast-evolving retail market.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Strategic Development: Inditex Trent Share Buyback<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Trent also announced that its Board has approved tendering its entire stake of 94,900 equity shares in Inditex Trent Retail India Pvt. Ltd. (ITRIPL) under the latter\u2019s share buyback programme. ITRIPL, an associate company of Trent, operates Zara stores in India, where Trent holds a 34.94% stake.<\/p>\n

According to the company\u2019s exchange filing, the buyback offer price stands at \u20b915,421.85 per share of face value \u20b91,000 each, reflecting a strategic capital reallocation decision.<\/p>\n
